Abraham Lincoln visits Princeton
Abraham Lincoln paid a visit to Liberty Village and Greenfield Retirement Home on Tuesday. He greeted the residents, sang songs and engaged in trivia. Abe, portrayed by Gerald Bestrom of Hastings, Mich., is playing Amazing Grace on a hand saw at Liberty Village. The residents enjoyed the visit. The American Legion Auxiliary Post 125 helped make the visit possible.
Young Leaders picnic is Aug. 7
MENDOTA The Bureau County Farm Bureau would like to announce the District 4 Young Leaders picnic to be held Aug. 7 at Lake Mendota. Lake Mendota is located next to the Mendota Civic Center. The picnic will begin at 5 p.m. for bag toss and other games. Dinner will be at 6 p.m.

Kick-off meeting for teachers is Aug. 10
PRINCETON The Bureau County Farm Bureau and Illinois Ag in the Classroom (AITC) would like to invite all Bureau County teachers to meet Sara Bass, Bureau County AITC coordinator, and to learn what materials are offered free of charge for classroom instruction this fall. The educational seminar will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 10 at the Bureau.
